Tuzla International Airport, located in the north-eastern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), saw a 75.0 percent increase in number of passengers in the first nine months year-on-year, official website said Sunday.
The number of passengers using Tuzla International Airport (TIA) in the first nine months 2017 amounted to 406,668, compared to the same period in 2016 when it amounted to 233,097, resulting in 75.0 percent increase.
A monthly record increase was seen in September 2017 when TIA recorded 52,816 passengers representing 90.0 percent increase.
During the last six years, including September this year, 1,198,724 passengers arrived at the Tuzla Airport, TIA official website says.
TIA currently hosts a low-cost Hungarian airline Wizz Air linking Tuzla with 15 destinations.
Previously operating as military airport, TIA was opened for civil air transport in 1998. Currently, TIA is second busiest airport in BiH when it comes to the number of passengers.
