Detailed project of the construction of Trebevic cable car was finalized and it will be handed over to the Municipality of Stari Grad which will issue the building permit. Mayor Ibrahim Hadzibajric said that based on the delivered project, the city of Sarajevo can issue the permit within 24 hours and that everyone’s goal is that the construction of the cable car is as fast as possible.
The project of construction of the cable car was considered at yesterday’s session of the Council of Ministers of BiH, and as the Deputy Mayor of Sarajevo Abdulah Skaka explained, it was related to donate equipment which is situated at the base in Butmir.
He explained that the equipment was donated 6 years ago and that they will see what can be used. Contractor will be Italian company Leitner which won the tender.
Starting and arrival stations on Bistrik and Trebevic have been demolished, as well as the Vidikovac restaurant.
On the question when the completion of the construction can be expected, Skaka said that indicative date is the 6th of April 2017, the Day of the City of Sarajevo.
“Everything depends on the weather as well, we are already entering the September. It might be a bit too ambitious but we will see,” said Skaka.
The main donor for the construction of Trebevic cable car is Dr. Edmond Offerman who stayed in Sarajevo this month. Together with his spouse, he donated 7.5 million BAM. One part of required assets was allocated by the city of Sarajevo, and the Municipality Stari Grad will pay a total of 500.000 BAM for the construction of cable car.
The citizens of Sarajevo, as well as numerous tourists who visit capital city of BiH as well, are eagerly waiting for the completion of the construction of cable car which was demolished during the siege of Sarajevo. Ride to Trebevic should last for 8 minutes.
