The end of the tourist season, during which more than 100.000 tourists from around the world visited this city, was symbolically marked in the royal city of Jajce, together with the World Tourism Day.
The Director of the Agency for Cultural, Historical and Natural Heritage and the Development of Tourist Potentials of Jajce Huso Hadzic expressed satisfaction with this year’s results achieved in tourism, and said that they are striving for achieving the pre-war number of 250.000 visits.
“We are very satisfied. This is the first time that we go along with the marking of the World Tourism Day which is being marked on September 27th every year, and at a different continent each year. Tourism connects people economically, politically, and sociologically. I often say that tourism has no limits, political nor geographical, and it connects people throughout the continent”, Hadzic pointed out.
Hadzic stated that not even 30 percent of the potentials that this city offers have been used. He noted that it would be easier to list the countries from which tourists do not come to visit Jajce.
“According to the data from the past days, more than 100.000 tourists have visited Jajce since the beginning of the year”, Hadzic emphasized adding that Jajce is approaching the pre-war number of around 250.000 tourists annually. He also said that over a million BAM were left in Jajce, without overnight stays.
The World Tourism Day has also been used for the presentation of acknowledgements for the promotion of the royal city.
The acknowledgements have been presented to those who have, in any way, supported the work of the Agency, assisted in preserving the cultural-natural wealth, and the promotion and presentation of tourist potentials of Jajce.
Speaking of the acknowledgements presented to the media, institutions, tourist agencies with whom the Municipality and the Agency cooperate, Hadzic said that a large number of people contributed to the returning of tourism to the royal city.
“I give special thanks to the media who wrote, talked, and visually transmitted the events in Jajce. That can be shown at least in this humble way, we can say thanks with this acknowledgement”, said Hadzic.
