At its 41st extraordinary telephone session, the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina passed a Decision declaring January 4 this year a Day of Mourning in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, due to the tragic death of eight young people from the Municipality of Posusje as a result of gas suffocation.
This decision was adopted unanimously.
The day of mourning is marked by the obligatory display of the BiH flag on half of the spears, ie masts, on the buildings of BiH institutions. In accordance with this decision, media houses and organizers of cultural, artistic and sports events in BiH are obliged to adjust their program contents to the day of mourning.
Eight young people died as a result of gas suffocation in the village of Tribistovo in the municipality of Posusje, according to the police. The tragedy happened while young people from Rakitna and Posusje were waiting for the New Year. An investigation is underway.
Unofficially, four girls and four boys died.
“Eight young people between the ages of 18 and 19 were killed,” confirmed Milan Galic on behalf of the Ministry of the Interior.
“There were also younger people waiting for the New Year in the neighboring cottage. They were the first to notice that no one came out of the cottage nearby. After that they tried to enter the cottage, but the door was locked. One of them entered, and on the ground floor, he found eight people unconscious, after which he called the police “, said Galic, reports Dnevnik.hr.
According to unofficial allegations, the young people most likely suffocated because of the gas from the generator that supplied the house with electricity.
