Three trucks of aid which B&H people from UK collected during the last 10 days, departed yesterday toward B&H.
A large number of citizens responded to the call of Bosnia UK Network, to help the population of flooded areas in B&H.
First to respond to this call were volunteers of cultural community Hilal BC from Bratford and ensured a truck to drive the aid.
“We organized one truck with aid but soon Bosnian people from all parts of UK responded and wished to join this action. Thus, we had to organize additionally two more trucks- one for Birmingham and one for London. So, we have three trucks of aid, which has already departed to B&H. The aid consists of food, hygienic items, children packages, clothes and more items such as tools, medicines, boots, blankets etc”, said the President of Hilal BC Enes Šupuk.
Along with packages, financial donations have been collected as well, which exceeded all the expectations and will be used to purchase more food and all the necessary things.
The second truck was loaded in Birmingham, where B&H people from this city in 10 days collected 13.000 pounds and donations will be spent imidiatelly.
Third truck is loaded in London, and the biggest aid was given by Alma Kočan, who opened her house to collect aid for people.
Local B&H associations from London gave their contribution as well and the members of B&H club Brent ensured goods and tools for cleaning for another truck which will depart to B&H these days.
