The third festival of anamorphic 3D street art Beton Fest was opened in Sarajevo yesterday with songs, music, and street 3D painting of the planet Earth with white doves of peace. This year’s parole of the festival is “Let’s paint peace”, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the signing of Dayton Peace Agreement.
The first painting emerged at the plateau in front of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and as of today the festival is to spread to numerous locations in the city.
This year’s Beton Fest is the biggest so far, and a large number of artists from B&H and the European countries (France, Italy, Germany, Romania, and Croatia) are participating.
Already today, the artists are painting a 3D mural and other 3D paintings on Ferhadija, the Square of the Children of Sarajevo (Trg Djece Sarajeva), and in the Titova Street. For the first time ever, the Beton Fest will be doing wall murals, and a total of four of them are planned. They are to be made by the special guest of the festival Artz Lonac from Croatia, Kerim Musanovic from B&H – the Beton 3D mural in which all interested citizens will have an opportunity to participate.
Besides street art, other contents are also planned such as the screening of the domestic film about Street art in the world “Gesso”, socializing with big stars of the Beton Fest, as well as concerts.
In the last two days, the activities will be held at the Wilson’s Promenade.
