[wzslider autoplay=”true”] 20 years ago, in BiH, were held the first general elections after the signing of the peace agreement in Dayton in December 1995, where three national parties, SDA, SDS and HDZ, won with significant results.
Elections were held on the 14th of September and in accordance with the rules and regulations of the then OSCE’s Provisional Election Commission.
The SDA candidate for the Presidency of BiH was Alija Izetbegovic and he won 730,592 votes, Haris Silajdzic was second with 124,396 votes, and Fikret Abdic got 25,584 votes.
Candidate of HDZ, Kresimir Zubak, won 330,477 votes for the Presidency of BiH from the Croatian people. The candidate from the combined list, Ivo Komsic, received 37,684 votes.
Momcilo Krajisnik entered the Presidency as a representative of the Serbian people, and he won 690,646 votes. The second was Mladen Ivanic, current member of the Presidency of BiH, who won 307,461 votes.
SDA entered the House of Representatives of BiH with 16 representatives from the FBiH and won a total of 725,417 votes. Also, they won 184,553 votes in the RS, which was enough for three more representative, which made a total of 19 of them.
SDS was the second party in parliament with 9 deputies and 578,723 votes while HDZ had one less representative.
When it comes to the Federal Parliament, out of a possible 140 places, SDA won 78, HDZ won 36, and the combined list including SDP, UBSD, HSS, MBO and Republicans won 11 places.
