The Municipality of Prozor-Rama, on the occasion of 650 years of the first written mention of Prozor in Rama, is organizing the International Scientific Symposium entitled c.
The aforementioned symposium will be held on the 11th of August in the Cultural Center in Prozor, starting at 9 am and a total of 27 authors will present their works.
Organizers of the event stated that the submitted works will be divided into six topics: “Tvrtko’s Charter under Prozor in Rama,” “Medieval Bosnia and Hum”, “Medieval Rama”, “The people of Rama and migrations from Rama”, “Rama in Bosnia and Herzegovina” and “Records and documents”.
Bosnian Ban Tvrtko I Kotromanic, on the 11th of August 1366 “under Prozor in Rama” issued the Charter in which he gives city Sokol in Pliva and the entire parish of Pliva to his faithful Duke Vukac Hrvatinic for faithful service and successful war against the government of the Hungarian-Croatian king Louis the Great. The Charter is written on Bosancica on the parchment of German production, and in which Prozor in Rama was mentioned for the first time in history.
Municipality of Prozor-Rama, 650 years later, organizes the symposium “Bosnian Ban Tvrtko ‘under Prozor in Rama”, in order to scientifically process the Charter and emphasize the historical significance of Prozor and Rama.
Invited authors will analyze Tvrtko’s Charter through diplomatic – historical relations, then its paleographics and linguistics, and metrology of Tvrtko’s money. Besides the above-mentioned, there are contributions that will explain medieval Bosnia, Rama and noble town of Prozor, during the reign of King Tvrtko, krstjani (Christians) and the Bosnian Church, Rama tombstones, ’emblem of Rama’, heraldry, and wine growing, as well as connections of Rama with some towns in Dalmatia, especially Zadar and Trogir.
Besides the above-mentioned, they will also analyze Rama in times of Ottoman and Austrian rule and during the wars, as well as changes in the regime and in the process of islamization, various migrations and administrative appropriations until today.
“On the occasion of the 650th anniversary of the first written mention of Prozor in Rama, we have invited scientists, historians, theologians and other professional people and organized a scientific symposium on the topic of Tvrtko’s Charter and Rama throughout the history. I would like to thank to all the participants, all those who sent us their scientific and professional articles in which they approach the past of Rama and inspired us for more conscious and social engagement in our municipality,” said the member of the Organizing Committee, Fra Tomislav Brkovic.
