The Franciscan classical high school in Visoko, with the help of the Rotary Club Koblenz Deutsches-Eck from Germany has established the Intercultural Youth Choir. The idea of the founders was that young people from different cultures in B&H to get together and to work on music projects with long term cooperation of Chamber Youth Choir from Koblenz.
The first joint project of this two choirs, The Armed Man – A Mass for Peace of Karl Jenkins is composed during the wars in Balkans in 1990s and is dedicated to the survivors of the war in Kosovo and unites various musical styles and religious motives of Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and Judaism as well as the texts by John Dryden, Rudyard Kipling, Jonathan Swift and etc.
After months of intensive rehearsals, Intercultural Youth Choir from Visoko performed in Germany together with the Youth Choir from Koblenz on 24.03.2014 in Koblenz, accompanied by the State Philharmonic Orchestra of the Rhine. 1.400 spectators attended this concert in Germany.
Chamber Youth Choir from Koblenz will be hosted soon in B&H and both choirs under organization of the Rotary Club of Sarajevo, the Franciscan High School Visoko and Bosnian Cultural Center Sarajevo will perform the same program in a concert titled Better is Peace on 24.04.2014 at 19:30, at Bosnian Cultural Center in Sarajevo, accompanied by orchestra Bellarte from Sarajevo, announced the organizers of the concert.
