Edvin Sinanagic (21) from Zavidovici and Haris Kvrgic (19) from Sanski Most, students of the third and the first year of the Faculty of natural and technical sciences at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS), are winners if the first award of the IUS LEC Business plan competition held on Wednesday, 22nd April 2015. The competition was organized by the Center for Entrepreneurship and Management of the International University of Sarajevo (LEC) in the cooperation with the BBI Bank, and students of IUS competed for the best business plan.
The winning duo will also, in addition to the cash prize in amount of 300 Euros, present their business plan on 13th and 14th May at the Sarajevo Business Forum, international investment conference that is being organized for the sixth time by the BBI Bank in the capital of BiH. Sinanagic and Kvrgic came up with the idea to develop a plan for the production of cotton swabs after they noticed that there are no domestic manufacturer of this product in supermarkets.
“We are happy for winning award and especially for having an opportunity to present ourselves to business people from the region and the world. In this way, we wanted to promote domestic producers. When we thought about what to produce, we realized that it should not be hard to make something such simple – a swab and some cotton, and we do not have domestic producer“, said Edvin, adding that he has not stage fright about performing in front of such significant audience.
