From 29 to 31 May, the festival of comics Stripiti Fest 2013 will be held in Sarajevo, reports radiosarajevo.ba
The festival is organised by the Association ‘Drugi ugao’ in cooperation with Goethe Institute and ‘Cure’ Foundation.
‘Drugi Ugao’ will present two guests Martina Peters from Germany and Sonja Gašperov from Croatia.
Martina Peters was born in 1985 in Dusseldforf is a renowned manga artist, internationally known for her free on-line manga ‘Ten’, while Sonja Gašparov was born in Split where she works as a teaching assistant at the Fine Arts Academy and who has published many short comics on the Internet and her comics were included in the anthology of women comics.
Festival will be opened in Goethe Institute at 9 p.m. with the presentations of Vahidin Preljević ,Ismar Hačam and Martina Peters, and afterwards there will be a comics forum with Vahidin Preljević, Emir Pašanović, Martina Peters, Sonja Gašparov on topic ‘Women in the World of Comics’.
Goethe Institute will also present an exhibition of comic books created in workshops with young authors which was led by Filip Andronik in 2012, and the exhibition is called ‘Once upon time in 21st Century’.
On the second night, at 6 p.m. the exhibition of comic authors will be opened in Sarajevo War Theatre where the winner of this year’s competition ‘Parodija’ will be known, and 27 authors with 100 comics with participate, and the exhibition will last until 6 June.
On the last day of the festival, an exhibition of Sonja Gašparov will be opened in Art cinema ‘Kriterion’ and until 6 p.m. she’ll talk about her comics, and after at 10 p.m., there will be Stripiti Party with Audio InFunktion who’ll close the festival will start at 10 p.m.
All comic fans and those who like to wear unusual costumes are invited to come dressed as their favourite comic book heroes or heroines.
