In September 2019 tourists realized 169,725 tourist arrivals in Bosnia and Hercegovina which represent the decrease by 17.3% as compared to August 2019 and increase by 8.5% as compared to September 2018. Tourists realized 328,508 tourist nights which represent the decrease by 27.8% as compared to August 2019 and increase by 5.1% as compared to September 2018. Domestic tourists’ share of a total number of overnight stays was 26.6% and foreign tourists share was 73.4%.
According to BiH’s Agency for Statistics, the number of domestic tourist nights decreased by 10.1% as compared to August 2019 and increased by 3.4% as compared to September 2018. Foreign tourist nights decreased by 32.6% as compared to August 2019 and increased by 5.7% as compared to September 2018.
Concerning the structure of foreign tourist nights in September 2019, the most of them (45.0%) were realised by tourists from: Croatia (7.7%), China (6.4%), Serbia (6.3%), Germany (5.8%), Poland (5.6%), Turkey (5.1%), Italy (4.8%), Slovenia (4.7%), and Saudi Arabi and France by (4.3%). Tourists from other countries realised 45.0% of tourist nights.
Regarding the average detention of foreign tourist stays in our country on the first place comes: Malta wiht average stay by 6.0 nights, Kuwai and Ireland by with 3.5 nights, Bahrain and and the United Arabien Emirates by with 2.9 and Egypt, Ukraine and Quatar by with 2.7 nights.
Available rooms, apartments and camping sites for tourists in Bosnia and Herzegovina in September 2019 amounted to 20,883 which is 2.1% increase compared to September 2018. Number of available beds was 45,019 beds, which is increase by 3.7%, compared to the same month of 2018.
In September 2019, in the activity – Hotels and similar accommodation, number of rooms and apartments available to tourists amounted to 18,324, which is an increase of 4.1% compared to September 2018., and number of available beds amounted to 37,734 which is an increase of 5.9%, compared to the same month of the previous year.
Net occupancy rate of permanent beds in September 2019 was 23.6%.
According to the type of accommodation facility, the highest number of nights was recorded in hotels and similar accommodation with a share of 92.0%.
