The “A” national teams of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Northern Ireland will play a semi-final match of the EURO Play-offs in Zenica on 26th March 2020.
After this match, in case of victory, on 31st March, our team will meet with the better of the duel Slovakia – Republic of Ireland.
The head coach of our country, Dušan Bajević, today sent the invitations to the players he is counting on for these matches. There are 29 names on the list, and Bajević believes that they are our best players at the moment.
“An important match is ahead of us and we have decided on more players, because we already have injury issues and we hope that all those on the list will come healthy and ready for the gathering on 23rd March.
We believe that the players we have invited can properly respond to one such challenge, such as the play-offs. We must not be fooled by the victories we have achieved in the Nations League; this is a completely different match and Northern Ireland is a good team and they can create problems for us. However, we have a huge ambition to qualify for the European Championship, and neither should Northern Ireland stop us on this journey, nor the fact that we will not have Krunić, Lulić, Kolašinac and Đuric available. We were counting on them seriously, but I think we have the quality and that other players will do their best to make up for their absence. We have two weeks left until the gathering, and most importantly, everyone to be healthy.
Also, I believe that with the tremendous support from the stands, as we have always had before, we can win this match and pave the way for the finals and qualification for EURO.”
