The section Sarajevo Bypass Brijesce – Safeta Zajke Street – viaduct Brijesce, was officially put into operation. Thus, Sarajevo got another direct inclusion on the highway A1.
“This section is very important because it provides a faster way to enter the city, and it also solves the problem of traffic jams to citizens who are living here because it connects the main city road with Corridor 5C. We have also demonstrated the functionality of all levels of government, we quickly solved administrative problems, we found money for property-law related issues and today we can see the justification of all of that,” said Prime Minister of CS Elmedin Konakovic.
Minister of Traffic and Communications of the FBiH Denis Lasic also attended the event and he noted that this section represents a big step for the citizens and he expressed his hope that Sarajevo will get a completely new bypass.
This part of the road is 1,200 meters long, and according to earlier information, a total of 9.5 million BAM was invested in its construction.
So far were implemented sections of Josanica-loop Butila (LOT-1), loop Butila – Brijesce (LOT-2A), Brijesce-Stup (LOT-2B), loop Butila-Vlakovo (LOT-3A) and now Brijesce-connection with Safeta Zajke Street (LOT-2C).
The connection of the Sarajevo bypass from the direction of Brijesce with Safeta Zajke Street represents a temporary technical solution, until the construction of the highway.
