There was an increase in revenues from indirect taxes in BiH in the last year in comparison with 2015 to about 285 million BAM, according to a report on the work of the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA).
Total revenue collected for distribution to customers in 2016 amounted to 5.530 billion BAM, which is 5.16 % more than in 2015, as said in the report that was adopted at yesterday’s session in Mostar by the Governing Board of the ITA.
The Board requested the ITA to take all necessary measures in order to achieve better effects in the collection of indirect taxes, as well as to strengthen the control mechanisms at its disposal.
The session concluded that they need to improve the legal framework for more effective work of the Board in the following period, which should result in better effects when it comes to the level of collection of indirect taxes, as the most important factor that is contributing to fiscal sustainability and stability of BiH, entities and Brcko District, as released by the Ministry of Finance of BiH.
With the adoption of the report at a session of the ITA, the conditions for final approval by the Council of Ministers of BiH have been created.
