In Zaluzani Training Centre complex, the Republika Srpska Ministry of the Interior marked the 26th anniversary of establishing the 6th detachment of Special Police Brigade and, on this occasion, memorial service was held and wreaths were laid at the memorial for the fallen members of the 6th Detachment.
The memorial service for 13 members of the 6th detachment was attended by the Prime Minister of the Republika Srpska, Zeljka Cvijanovic, Police Director, Darko Culum, the members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, the president of the Republic of Srpska Veteran organization, Milomir Savcic, former members of the 6th detachment, members of the 3rd Infantry Regiment of BIH Armed Forces, as well as the members of NGO established as a result of the defensive-homeland war.
As a part of Anniversary, a collection of epic poems was promoted named ‘Defending the homeland on the first line’, written by a police officer, Sasa Nikolic from Pale. The promotion was also attended by the president of the Association of veterans of the 6th Detachment of Special Police Brigade, Zoran Krajnovic, as well as students from Pale, who recited and interpreted the author’s poems.
The 6th Detachment of Special Police Brigade was established on 1 November 1992 in Banja Luka. The members of the 6thDetachment fought in battlefields all around the territory of the Republika Srpska, and some of their actions were extending the Koridor, stopping the enemy at the location of Alibegovica Kosa in Bihac battlefield, and participation in the action of rescuing civilians from Dvor na Uni.
