The championship of Saudi Arabia, which was interrupted due to the coronavirus pandemic, continues on 4th August this year.
For many years, the best European referees have dispensed justice at matches in Saudi Arabia, and at the request of the football association there and at the suggestion of UEFA, two matches will be officiated by referees from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Football Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has given its consent to main referee Irfan Peljto and assistant referees Davor Belja and Senad Ibrišimbegović to officiate in two rounds of the elite competition in this Asian country.
The first match that will be led by the trio of referees from our country is Al Ahli SC vs. Al Hazem, which will be played tomorrow at 20:15 h at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah. As in most countries, this match will be played under strict measures without the presence of the audience.
This will be a special opportunity for BH referees to gain experience in a competition using the VAR system.
Trust shown to BH referees is a great recognition for the work of the FF BH as well as the referee organizationsin our country.
