To ask the members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina or anyone else to act contrary to the legal provisions is unethical and unacceptable. The responsible institutions must react appropriately, it was stated today in the reaction from the Embassy of the United States of America in BiH.
Upon FENA’s inquiry, the US Embassy’s Public Affirs Office issued a statement reminding that the 2005 Law on Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina clearly defines the obligations, responsibilities and behavior of members of the Armed Forces of BiH.
“Public denial of one of the key pillars of peace and security in BiH undermines the stability of the whole country. Such rhetoric and calls for actions of this kind are irresponsible and dangerous, and they do not help BiH to achieve its set goals – European integrations,” stated the Embassy.
The Embassy underlined that the United States remains committed to the preservation of peace and stability in BiH, as well as the continuation of professional, productive and positive cooperation with the Armed Forces of BiH.
Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik yesterday asked the members of the Third Infantry Regiment of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (the regiment from RS) to wear the uniforms of the former “Army of Republika Srpska” at the next celebration of the “Army Day”, which caused strong reactions in the public in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fena reports.
