Pope Francis yesterday condemned the “scandalous amounts of money” that governments and world institutions allocate to save the failed banks, while they find it difficult to collect much less funds for people who suffer, including migrants who die trying to cross the Mediterranean sea.
Supreme Head of the Roman Catholic Church described such policy as “the bankruptcy of humanity”.
“What is happening in the world today is that, when a bank goes into bankruptcy, scandalous amounts of money appear for its salvation, while it is impossible to find much lower amounts to save the brothers and sisters who suffer so much,” Pope Francis said.
