‘I would love to be with you, with the citizens of B&H’, said yesterday tonight in his speech via video link former President of the USA Bill Clinton, who was declared Person of the Year 2014 at the manifestation ‘Večernjakov Pečat’ held in Mostar.
The Person of the Year 2014 was declared by the Croatian member of Presidency Dragan Čović, after which Clinton addressed those present in the hall of Croatian Lodge ‘Herceg Stjepan Kosača’ in Mostar via video link.
‘I wish I were with you tonight. I am happy to be awarded and I want to say how much it means to me. I greet the members of the Presidency of B&H and all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina’, said Clinton.
Since yesterday’s event was held in honor of marking the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Dayton Agreement in Bosnia, Clinton pointed out that he hopes that BiH will continue to work on prosperity.
‘The Dayton Agreement has helped to bring peace to your country. Now, 20 years later, I am proud that BiH remains committed to building a prosperous country in the heart of Europe. More than anything, thank you very much for staying on the path of peace – said Clinton, reports Anadolu Agency (AA).
During the opening of the event, the Chairman of the Presidency of B&H Mladen Ivanić said how ‘Večernjakov Pečat’ brought together members of all nationalities.
‘It is very pleasant to be here tonight not only because of the beautiful city of Mostar, and we are gathered in a very pleasant atmosphere. The occasion is good-the affirmation of people who have done something for themselves and for others in the past year. The Presidency of B&H accepted with pleasure to sponsor this event. I hope we can all enjoy together in this evening’, said Ivanić and officially opened the event.
