The participation in oil projects in Algeria worth 100 million USD was offered to Energoinvest, as announced by adviser of director general of Energoinvest Midhat Osmanbegovic.
Osmanbegovic was staying in Algeria together with the director of the Center for Transatlantic Relations (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University in Washington Dr. Sasa Toperic, who gave a speech at a gala dinner organized by the Algerian Institute for Entrepreneurship Development (CARE) during his stay in Algeria. Besides Toperic, guests were also addressed by Philippe de Fontaine Vive, Vice-President of the European Investment Bank, and Hernando de Soto, a famous Peruvian economist and president of the Institute for Liberty and Democracy in Lima.
Toperic welcomed the significant improvement of the relationship between the United States and Algeria, emphasizing that last year’s presentation of the largest companies of the country, in the organization of the Algerian government and the United States in Washington, Chicago, Detroit and California, represented a significant step towards strengthening of the cooperation.
The conference was attended by delegation of Energoinvest from Sarajevo, led by adviser of the Director General Midhat Osmanbegovic. Energoinvest is present in Algeria for more than 40 years in the field of energy, however, not in the oil sector which is a mainstay of the Algerian economy. As a member of the Business Advisory Board of the SAIS project of the Mediterranean basin, doors of Algeria were opened for Energoinvest even more.
Osmanbegovic and his colleagues used this opportunity to make contacts with representatives of companies in the oil industry. During this visit, concrete discussions were initiated regarding the realization of the 100 million USD oil project in which Energoinvest and other B&H companies would be involved.
