In January 2020, the number of registered unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina amounted to 406.167.
If we take 2018 as a base year (2018 = 100) and compare January 2020 with the same month of 2019, we will notice that the number of unemployed decreased by 5,7 index points, or in absolute terms the number of people registered as unemployed decreased by 27.271.
If we compare registered unemployed by qualification structure, we will notice that the largest number of unemployed are highly skilled and skilled by 130.135 followed by those with a high school diploma by 114.952 and unskilled by 111.835.
The lowest number of unemployed are those with higher education by 6.755, followed by those semi-skilled by 7.285.
The share of female population in registered unemployed amounted to 56,8% or in absolute terms 230.865 females.
In the female population, the largest number of unemployed are those with secondary education by 73.270, then those unskilled by 64.916 and those with highly skilled and skilled qualification by 59.948 females.
In December 2019, the number of registered unemployed in Bosnia-Herzegovina amounted to 401.846.
If we take 2017 as a base year (2017 = 100) and compare December 2019 with the same month of 2018, we will notice that the number of unemployed decreased by 7% index points, or in absolute terms the number of people registered as unemployed decreased by 33.380.
If we compare registered unemployed by qualification structure, we will notice that the largest number of unemployed are highly skilled and skilled by 132.406 followed by those with a high school diploma by 116.169 and unskilled by 113.679.
The lowest number of unemployed are those with higher education by 6.439, followed by those semi-skilled by 7.587.
The share of female population in registered unemployed amounted to 56,7% or in absolute terms 233.209 females.
In the female population, the largest number of unemployed are those with secondary education by 73.971, then those unskilled by 65.937 and those with highly skilled and skilled qualification by 60.987 females, according to Bosnian Agency for Statistics.
In December, a total of 16,589 persons were deleted from the records of employment services, out of which 9,651 were employed. At the same time, 10,493 people quit their jobs, while employers reported the need to hire 5,235 new workers during that period.
