The Prime Minister of FBiH Fadil Novalic stated that his meetings with representatives of the IMF and the World Bank that were held in recent days in Washington primarily referred to technical assistance to reforms in BiH.
“As I have emphasized on several occasions, the international financial institutions are providing their support through their experts and we appreciate their advice and suggestions. Although when it comes to, for example, the IMF, the public usually thinks about favorable loans, I do believe that the help of international experts made the largest contribution to positive changes in our economy. However, the financial support from international institutions is only a short-term solution. My government and I are committed to finding a long-term and systematic ways of starting the growth of our economy. I am referring to measures from the Reform Agenda first since we were able to significantly change the economic picture of the FBiH with their help,” said Novalic.
It is important to emphasize, noted Prime Minister, that the Reform Agenda does not refer only to economic reforms.
“A significant part of our work is dedicated to the strengthening of the rule of law and the fight against corruption. We appreciated the support of our partners from the IMF and the World Bank, i.e. the institutions that pay special attention to the transparency and openness of the reform process, especially in this part,” concluded Novalic.
