A meeting was held yesterday between representatives in the aviation and tourism industry of BiH and Greece. They spoke about the possibility of introducing flights between Greece and BiH, and developing tourism, trade and economic relations.
“This meeting is the continuation of the one that we had in Athens. The opinion is that it is incomprehensible that there is no direct flight between two countries that cooperate so much with one another. Thus, the Directorate for Civil Aviation of BiH has joined as a sponsor. We have secured all the necessary conditions by signing an agreement and other regulations. It is up to the tourism agencies and airline companies to find mutual cooperation and interest in order to realize this project’’, said Žana Ateljević – Grigorić from the BiH Directorate for Civil Aviation.
Samer Rešidat, the manager of the tourist agency “Sol Azur” said that if established, the new regular flights for Greece would mean a lot to everyone, especially tourist agencies and citizens.
‘’Our agency helps around 2-3 thousand people every year travel to Greece. I have to say that travel from Sarajevo to Athens with a bus lasts around 27 hours, while with an airplane the trip would take around 1 hour and 45 minutes. This would certainly increase the number of tourists who would travel to Greece, as well as people who wish to come to Sarajevo’’, said Rešidat.
