Muslims on Friday, December 1st will celebrate Mevlud, the day when Muhammad a.s. was born.
Mevlud, the day of the birth of Muhammad a.s., is celebrated in the Islamic tradition by the 12th rebu-l-evvela of the Hijri, lunar calendar. Mevlud day is one of the most joyful days for Muslims because the Prophet’s birth represents the beginning of the fulfillment of the spiritual maturity of mankind.
“We have sent you (Muhammad) as grace to the worlds, “ it is said in the Qur’an. Prophet Muhammad said for himself: “I am prayer of Ibrahim a.s., and the joyful news of Isa a.s. “. The Prophet’s birth and the appearance of the most glorious rose on the tree of prophecy, for Muslims, presents the end of the prophecy cycle.
The Muslims keep the rememberance of the Prophet, as someone who has reached the zen of humanity in his life, since he as the Prophet, experienced the moral fullness of what makes perfect human nature . Muhammad a.s. was also distinguished by maintaining the balance between spirit and matter, heart and soul, life and death.
By his own example, mankind has been testified the universal principle: in order to do well, you have to be good, to overcome the world, first you need to overcome yourself. With the respect to their beloved Prophet, Muslims in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) are celebrating the 12th rebiu-l-evvel for centuries, by doing mevlud, the pious message about Muhammad a.s.
During the mevlud, as well as throughout the whole month, rebu-l-evvela, Muslims share blessings to Muhammad a.s. , and this act has a special value, because sharing blessings for Muhammad a.s. at the same time with other people, is brought by Allah and chosen angels.
This year, the 12th rebiu-l-evvel is celebrated on Friday, December 1st , 2017. That day in the Gazi Husrev-beg mosque in Sarajevo, on the occasion of the 12th rebui-l-evvel, Reisu-l-ulema of the Islamic Community in BiH, Husein Ef. Kavazovic will speak.
The night before, on November 30th , in the Gazi Husrev-beg mosque in Sarajevo, central mevlud will be done, where the lecture will be held by the dean of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences in Sarajevo prof. Zuhdija Hasanovic.
The Directorate for Religious Affairs congratulated the Mevlud day to all Muslims in BiH and other countries, wishing them to be true followers of the symbol of Prophethood and Mercy to the Worlds, Muhammad a.s.
