The biggest and the most important museum institution in B&H, The National Museum, is closed for almost three years. Ministry of Civil Affairs of B&H proposed a Memorandum of understanding with the aim of the support to the cultural institutions, Memorandum was addressed to Federal Ministries of Education and Science, Culture and Sport, Ministry of the Culture and Sport of Canton Sarajevo, City of Sarajevo and municipalities Centar, Stari Grad, Novo Sarajevo, Novi Grad and Ilidza.
Mayor of the Municipality Centar, Dzevad Becirevic, prepared a positive proposal on accepting the Memorandum of understanding for the next session of the Municipal Council Centar, by which the Municipality Centar would allocate 150.000 BAM at the annual level for financing the cultural institutions of the importance for B&H in the period from 2016 to 2018.
Related to the current problem of the fight for the preservation of the cultural institutions of the importance for B&H in which the large number of citizens from all levels of the society is included, starting from the culture, science, art… and in the situation in which duty shifts were introduced in the National Museum of B&H in order to once more draw attention to the situation in which the Museum is closed for visitors for a longer period, which represents the national disgrace, Municiplaity Centar is ready to give a contribution to the preservation, development and performance of activities of these institutions, as emphasized by Becirevic.
According to the words of Becirevic, other six institutions must not be neglected because, each of them represents and keeps the national treasure.
Those are all institutions that have an excellent potential for the development of the cultural mission, education and science, but also a presentation and the promotion of our country and its cultural and historical heritage, We in the Municipality Centar state that their work is of a crucial importance for the development of the tourism as well, said Becirevic.
