The BiH Ministry of Finance and Treasury announced that money for resolving the migrant crisis has not been paid into the BiH Treasury Single Account.
“Allegations that the International Organization for Migration (IOM) submits financial reports on the use of these funds to the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH are also incorrect because illegal migrations are the exclusive competence of the BiH Ministry of Security and all contacts end in that ministry, which prepares reports for the sessions of the Council of Ministers of BiH,” announced the BiH Ministry of Finance and Treasury.
The Ministry reminds that ‘all BiH institutions have the obligation to operate in accordance with the Law on Financing of BiH Institutions and to submit information for budget execution reports, which, after being adopted by the Council of Ministers, the Presidency and the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, are published on the website of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH (www.mft.gov.ba).
“All expenditures, covered by the budget and other activities based on laws, are transparent and available to the domestic and international public. Detailed descriptions and the manner of spending public money can be found on the website of the Ministry and through the project ‘Budget for Citizens’,” the Ministry pointed out.
The funds planned in the budget are spent, as stated, in accordance with the law, while the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH cannot monitor the cash flows of international institutions beyond its competences.
