Trade cooperation with China has reached 700 million euros, an increase of 100 percent compared to the previous period, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s (BiH’s) Minister of Trade and Economic Relations Mirko Sarovic said during the meeting with Chinese ambassador Ji Ping here on Monday.
Sarovic emphasized that this is a “significant success” for BiH, assessing that economic and trade cooperation between the two countries is on the rise and that this trend should continue, was stated from the Ministry press office on Monday.
Interlocutors agreed that it is important to focus on the initiated energy and infrastructure projects such as the construction of the road infrastructure in Republika Srpska, one of the entities in BiH, construction of Block 7 of the Tuzla Thermal Power Plant, located 120 kilometers northeast of the capital and projects within “One Road, One Belt” Initiative.
Sarovic stressed on two important agreements that China and BiH signed in the field of agriculture and veterinary medicine, adding that for the first time BiH is enabled to export of food of animal origin to China. Both interlocutors noted that the two countries’ relations are accelerating rapidly in all areas and that it is expected some 100,000 citizens of China to visit BiH this year due to the visa liberalization agreement. Ping stressed that China gives great importance to the development of relations with BiH, and that a significant number of Chinese citizens and businessmen want to visit and invest in BiH.
