Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina Stasa Kosarac organized video conferences with the ambassadors of the United States of America and Great Britain, Eric Nelson and Matthew Field, with whom he discussed current economic and political issues in BiH and the region.
Kosarac and Nelson discussed the continuation of the implementation of USAID projects in the field of agriculture in both BiH entities, and the support that this US agency will provide to the development of the tourism sector in BiH in 2021, with an emphasis on mitigating the negative effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
The two pointed out that the tourism support project will be presented in December this year.
They agreed that it is necessary to adopt the laws from the Third Energy Package as soon as possible, which is an obligation of BiH from the Agreement on Accession to the Energy Community.
The interlocutors also discussed the issue of BiH’s accession to the “Mini Schengen” regional initiative. In this context, Minister Kosarac expressed a positive attitude towards the possibility of BiH becoming part of this regional initiative, which implies full freedom of movement of people, goods, services and capital with the countries of the region.
Kosarac spoke with British Ambassador Field about the upcoming summit on climate change, which will be held on December 12 in London. On that occasion, the Minister emphasized the importance of this topic from the aspect of environmental protection and public health.
The two officials also discussed the implementation of the Agreement on Partnership, Trade and Cooperation between Great Britain and BiH.
