Famous photographer from Sarajevo Milomir Kovacevic Strasni hosted a photo exhibition ” Sarajevo Strasni grad, Strasni pisci, Strasni fotograf (Sarajevo – fearsome city, fearsome writers, fearsome photographer)’, which was opened to visitors last night at the National Gallery of BiH.
This is a collection of photographs that were taken in wartime Sarajevo and they are accompanied by the texts of writers, and they worked on this project for over 3 years.
At the opening of the exhibition, publicist Zlatko Dizdarevic characterized this collection of photos as a document about us, who we have been and what we can be proud of.
His photographs, says Dizdarevic, are much different than the photos of world photographers who spent the war here.
“They observed us like a spectacular story, in one way or another, with more or less sentiment and Strasni was among us, and we were with him. That’s why these photos are different,” he says and noted the simplicity with which he talks about us and the fact that “there is no spectacle, there is only a soul”.
Director of the National Gallery of BiH Strajo Krsmanovic officially opened the exhibition for which he said that is the event of the year and it tells the story of history, memory, and reminiscence.
Photo Exhibition “Sarajevo – fearsome city, fearsome writers, fearsome photographer’ will be open to visitors until June 3.
