Central Election Commission (CEC) conducted all the activities and preparations for the local elections in BiH that will be held on Sunday, the 2nd of October. As the chairman of the CEC Ahmet Santic said at the press conference, everything is ready for polling places to be open at 7 am, and they will be closed at 7 pm.
“This year’s local elections will be observed by around 70,000 observers, including 300 foreigners. At the Central Voters Register is registered a total of 3,263,906 voters,” said Santic.
He added that this was a relatively quiet campaign, although the Coalition “Pod lupom” announced that this was one of the dirtiest campaigns in recent times. But Santic believes that such views are not justified.
It is interesting that the president of CEC, considering that he is from Mostar, will not be able to vote as well as around 90,000 of his fellow citizens, because, as it is well known, for Mostar were not called local-elections.
Santic himself expressed regret, as well as hope that political agreement will be reached on changes to the electoral law, so that elections could be held on the city on Neretva River…
