In April 2016, tourists realized 94 388 visits in BiH, which is by 34.4 % more compared to March 2016 and by 14.1 % more than in April 2015.
Tourists realized 185,372 overnight stays, which is by 29.7 % more in comparison to March 2016 and by 14.0 % more compared to April 2015. The total share of overnight stays of domestic tourists was 31.3 % while share of foreign tourists was 68.7 %.
Number of overnight stays of domestic tourists is increased by 11.3 % in comparison to March 2016 and by 7.4 % compared to April 2015. The number of overnight stays of foreign tourists is increased by 40.2 % in comparison to March 2016 and by 17, 3 % compared to April 2015, according to the Agency for Statistics of BiH.
In the structure of overnight stays of foreign tourists, the most overnight stays in April 2016 were realized by tourists from Croatia (13.7 %), Turkey (10.9 %), Serbia (8.1 %), Slovenia (7.2 %), Italy (6.2 %), Germany (4.6 %), and South Korea (3.6 %), which makes a total of 54.3 %. Tourists from other countries realized 49.2 % of overnight stays.
When it comes to the length of stay of foreign tourists, in the first place are tourists from South Africa with an average stay of 7.9 nights, followed by Cyprus with 4.4 nights, Ireland with 3.5 nights, Kuwait with 3.4 night, Romania with 3.2 nights and Denmark and Lithuania with 3.1 nights.
In April 2016 in BiH, a total of 15,946 rooms, apartments and camping sites was available for tourists, which is by 5.8 % more than in April 2015 and 33,942 available beds, which is by 8.4 % more than in the same month of 2015.
In April 2016, a total of 14,139 rooms and apartments was available for tourists within the framework of operation of hotels and similar accommodation facilities, which is by 4.1 % more than in April 2015 and 28 843 beds, which is by 6.2 % more than in same month of the previous year. Net utilization rate of beds was 19.5 %.
