The Czech company Energo Prague together with the Municipality of Foča, plans to activate the former power plant in the Industrial Zone Brod and invest 50 million EUR in this project. The revitalization of the power plant Foča would permanently solve the problem of heating system in the city.
One year ago, representatives of Czech companies showed interest in the construction of the cogeneration heating-power plant by revitalization of “Nova Energana” in Foča, which was bought by the Government of the Republic of Srpska in bankruptcy proceedings and was transferred to the ownership of municipality. They agreed on implementation of idea at yesterday’s meeting with representatives of the current government.
“We will establish this joint company in Foča, and start with the works in the next period that, as we are told, will cost 50 million EUR. It is a great investment that will solve heating problem of the city. This would provide the heating plant which is essential for facilities in the Industrial Zone Brod and would provide part of the electricity that would be placed in the Electric Power system of RS, “said Mayor of Foča, Radisav Mašić.
The new joint company of Czech investors and the municipality of Foča will be established within one month, and the implementation of the project will start next year. Besides the fact that with the new plant, it will solve the future issues of heating of the city, the municipality of Foča will not have to make additional investments in this project.
