President of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) Ivica Dacic said yesterday in Banja Luka that Serbia will always stand behind the Serbian people.
While attending ceremonial marking of 23 years since the founding of the Socialist Party, Dacic said that the SP and SPS are formally not the same party, but their relationship and cooperation are strong.
“There are certainly different opinions about Slobodan Milosevic, as well as all the people on the function at the time, but his greatest legacy was the participation in the creation of Republika Srpska (RS). That’s why we have an obligation to take care of the RS and Serbia will always stand behind the Serbian people,” said Dacic and congratulated birthday to SP, and in particular to its President, Petar Djokic.
Djokic said that he is glad when he can meet with all partners, but this day is special, as reported by “Nezavisne novine”.
“When we were established, the main goal was fir period of peace to come. When we succeeded, we had to restore the RS in the coming years, and we participated in it in several governments,” said Djokic.
He added that he is especially thankful to Dacic and his party, because without their support, he said, it would be very difficult to keep the RS.
“Every government with socialists is good government, but the best is the one headed by the socialists,” said Djokic.
