Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Physical Planning, Civil Engineering and Ecology of the Republic of Srpska, Srebrenka Golić, talked today with representatives of the “Benkons Bosnia” d.o.o from Doboj, whose investors are from Azerbaijan, and who are interested in building a factory for processing of fruit and vegetables in Ševarlije near Doboj.
The meeting was attended by the mayor of Doboj, Obren Petrović, with whom procedures for the necessary approvals for the realization of this project have been agreed.
Director of the project of “Benkons Bosnia”, Jaho Brzak, presented the conceptual design of the factory, adding that its construction and commissioning opens 300 new workplaces as well as the cooperation with producers of fruits and vegetables in the region, as announced by the Ministry of Physical Planning, Civil Engineering and Ecology.
The representative of the Embassy of Azerbaijan, Araz Alieyev, said that this is the first investment of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Srpska and that he hopes that there will be more to come in future, and thanked Golić for expressed will and readiness to maximally engage in its implementation.
Golić said that the Government of Republic of Srpska welcomes all investments that mean new jobs and start of production, pointing out that she is particularly looking forward to one of these investments to be realized in Doboj that has suffered enormous damage in last year’s floods.
‘’The construction and opening of the factory for processing fruit and vegetables in Ševarlije near Doboj is not only a good opportunity for the 300 people who will be employed in production, but also a great development opportunity for all agricultural producers from the region and beyond. A well-chosen location that is close to the railway and the main road Doboj – Brčko, will allow agricultural producers from other parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina as well to sell their production to this factory’’, said Golić.
