On the occasion of the International Labor Day in Bosnia and Herzegovina and pursuant to the provisions of the Law on Holidays of the Federation of BiH (FBiH) and Republika Srpska (RS), Saturday, Sunday
According to this law, two days will be non-working for state organs, organizations, companies, and other organizations and persons professionally performing service and manufacturing activities at all levels of BiH.
Most of the citizens of BiH will use the free days as a short holiday, and students will use it as a small vacation, because they will be able to connect to the non-working days with the weekend.
On the occasion of marking
May Day is a public holiday usually celebrated on 1 May or the first Monday of May. It is an ancient festival of spring and a current traditional spring holiday in many European cultures. Dances, singing, and cake are usually part of the festivities.
In 1889, May Day was chosen as the date for International Workers’ Day by the Socialists and Communists of the Second International to commemorate the Haymarket affair in Chicago.
International Workers’ Day is also called “May Day”, but it is a different celebration from the traditional May Day.
