At the beginning of February, we found out that Pep Guardiola will become the new coach of Manchester City, and after the finals of this year’s FA Cup, public learned that Louis Van Gaal will leave Manchester United and that Jose Mourinho will mostly likely come at his place. Meanwhile, Zlatan Ibrahimovic said goodbye to Paris Saint-Germain and club that he is mostly associated with is Manchester United.
Ibrahimovic played both with Mourinho and Guardiola. He spent one season under the leadership of each of these two coaches. First, he won Serie A in the jersey of Inter in the 2008/09 season with Mourinho, where he was the best scorer of the league with 25 goals.
After that he went to Barcelona, where he met with Guardiola, but instead remaining in Catalonia and engraving in the legends, he had a fight with Pep and left the club in the summer of 2010. In just one season with Barcelona, Ibrahimovic won the Spanish and European Super Cup, Primera and World Club Championship.
Champions League went into the hands of Jose Mourinho who accompanied Ibrahimovic, when he left Inter, with words: “You’re going to Barcelona to win the Champions League, but I will win it.” At least that is what Ibrahimovic wrote in his autobiography.
The photo of Ibrahimovic, Guardiola and Mourinho was created in the return semi-finals of the Champions League when Barcelona and Inter played in the Camp Nou. Barcelona won with the score 1: 0, but the Inter went on with total score of 3: 2. At one point, while Pep and Zlatan were talking, Mourinho approached and said something to Guardiola.
Maybe we could be watching similar scenery in the coming season, but in slightly different roles. It is expected for Mourinho and Ibrahimovic to be together in Manchester United, while Guardiola has already been named as the coach of Manchester City.
According to Sky Sports, only details keep Mourinho away from signing the contract with Manchester United, while there is no contract yet between Ibrahimovic and United.
