There is no option for secession of any entity in BiH, stated Hoyt Brian Yee, the Deputy Assistant to the US Secretary of State for Europe and Asia.
Yee rejected the allegations that he will become a new US ambassador to Macedonia, adding that he is satisfied with his current job.
“I am very proud to be Deputy Assistant to the US Secretary of State and I am happy with my job. I am happy to say that I will still be here,” noted Yee.
Talking about US interests in the region, Yee stated that the US wants to help the regional countries to reach their goal – a prosperous, democratic, stable and secure future.
“It is our interest for the regional countries to have the best market economy, with the opportunities for all the citizens, especially for the young people,” noted Yee.
“Our firm belief is that the leaders of BiH are obliged to respect the Constitution of BiH, as well as to respect international laws and rights, and to make decisions that will improve the interests of this country, especially when it comes to integrations with the rest of Europe,” he said.
“There is no option for secession of any entity. I believe that there is no interest of any leader or any party, for any form of violence. Therefore, our message to leaders would be that the US and European countries want to help this country on its path to EU integrations and all the other initiatives that can take BiH away from these integrations – should be discouraged,” stated the Deputy Assistant to the US Secretary of State for Europe and Asia.
