The helicopter of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been engaged in fire extinguishing in a forest that has affected locations in the wider Tuzla area.
Relevant civilian institutions made a request to use a military helicopter on Tuesday afternoon. Early this morning, a UH-1H helicopter from the 2nd helicopter squadron of the Air Force and Air Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina took off from the Rajlovac barracks towards Tuzla.
After all the necessary preparations, the helicopter crew began to complete the task. Up to this point, nine tons of water have been thrown at the fire. Extinguishing activities continue until the final localization of the fire.
When performing the firefighting task, the crew of the 2nd helicopter squadron of the AFBiH shall adhere to all prescribed procedures, including the COVID-19 virus protection measures and perform the assigned task safely.
In this way, as best they know, the AFBiH airmen send a message to all medical professionals and those who are on the “front line” of the fight against the virus, that they are ready to carry out legally mandated support to civilian authorities during the natural and other disasters.
