Minister of Environment and Tourism of the FBiH, Edita Djapo, and Director of the Fund for Environmental Protection of FBiH, Fuad Cibukcic, visited the Thermal Power Plant Kakanj, where Director Enver Merdic informed them with the situation in this power plant, with a special emphasis on environmental issues.
The hosts thanked Minister Djapo for successful cooperation and noted the necessity of compliance with the environmental acts with the same legislation of the EU.
Considering the announced feasibility study, the hosts agreed that they need to start with the realization of the project of heating pipeline Kakanj-Sarajevo as soon as possible, which will mean that TPP Kakanj will be able to start heating Sarajevo already in the season 2020-2021.
The leaders of TPP Kakanj thanked the director Cibukcic on projects that the Environmental Protection Fund of the FBiH successfully realized in the past two years, and he invited them to participate in their public calls in the future period as well.
The project “Establishment of the basic energy information system in the TPP Kakanj” was completed in the year of 2017, and the Fund approved a total of 28,000 BAM for that project. Moreover, 20,000 BAM worth contract will be signed for the purchase of new analysers for emission stations 300m from collector channels of block 5 and 6.
When it comes to other projects that are related to the “distribution” of thermal energy from TPP, the Fund also allocated 6,000 BAM for the project documentation “Main Project of Heating Pipeline in Kakanj” in 2017,” as stated from the Fund for Environmental Protection of FBiH.
