Handover of sixteen residential units for Roma families took place today in Zenica settlement Brist, within the project, “Action of Romani People.” From now on, they will live in modern and comfortable homes with all the conditions for normal life fulfilled.
“Action of Romani People” was conceived as a project that supports the socio-economic inclusion of Romani population in B&H through the housing care and socio-economic measures with involvement of local authorities and other partners, as it was the case during the construction of residential buildings B1 and B2 in Zenica settlement Brist.
At today’s handover of residential units, the Mayor of Zenica Husein Smajlovic said that with today’s handover of residential units are fulfilled the conditions for normal life of these Romani families.
“I’m really grateful to everyone who participated in this project, which is a proof that when all levels of government are included in a real project, ideas can also work well. By this and similar projects in Zenica, we are trying to correct the injustice and mistakes that have been made during the privatization when these social categories were not taken into account. Zenica has more than 200 apartments for this category, another 30 are currently under the construction and another 62 should start with the construction in Radakovo soon,” said Smajlovic.
