A former member of the Tenth Reconnaissance Squad (Deseti Diverzantski Odred) of the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS) Brano Gojkovic concluded a deal in Belgrade with which he pleaded guilty for killing hundreds of people from Srebrenica in July 1995.
The Higher Court in Belgrade sentenced Gojkovic with 10 years in prison, after pleading guilty, as reported by BIRN – Justice Report.
According to the deal, Gojkovic was one of eight former members of the VRS who participated in murdering of hundreds of Bosniak civilians at Branjevo Military Farm on the 16th of July 1995.
For this crime, the Court of B&H Franc Kos was sentenced with 35 years, Stanko Kojic with 32 years, Zoran Goronja with 30 years, and Vlastimir Golijan with 15 years of prison.
They were members of the Tenth Reconnaissance Squad, as well as Marko Boskic and Drazen Erdemovic, who were sentenced with 10 and 5 years in prison after pleading guilty.
Aleksandar Cvetkovic, also a former member of the squad, was trialed for participation in the shooting at Branjevo as well, and he was acquitted of the charges.
