Sarajevo will not be without heating and the system of gas supply to individual users or business entities will not be delayed in any way, Zlatko Petrović Minister of Physical Planning and Environment Protection announced at a press conference.
He reminded that gas deliveries were cut by 35 percent towards BiH and other countries in Europe by the Russian Federation.
According to him, regarding the Sarajevo Canton, sufficient quantities that can be given to Sarajevogas and Toplane are around 450,000 cubic meters.
Optimal quantities necessary for this time period and weather conditions are between 490,000 and 500.000 cubic meters which means that there lacks 40,000 to 50,000 cubic meters than objectively necessary.
“We were prepared for this situation. On the basis for heating regulation and heat distribution we took steps for activating the system of alternative heating in localities where this is possible. Currently, moderate reduction which lasts for two hours per day is in force,” Petrović added.
Petrović said that at today’s meeting at BH-Gas it was agreed that BH-Gas, if necessary and if instructed by Energoinvest, who is the gas supplier, will take necessary and additional steps for securing adding alternative fuels from the EU and in that sense the Energy Community was contacted and the talks are ongoing.
