Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Igor Crnadak yesterday attended an informal meeting of foreign ministers of countries of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP).
The meeting was held at the margins of the 12th Bled Strategic Forum 2017 and on that occasion, Minister confirmed the candidacy of BiH to chair over the SEECP on July 1, 2018, and expressed his expectations that the decision will follow soon.
The host of the meeting was the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Karl Erjavec, and the meeting was also attended by the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini.
The main topics of this meeting were: ways to intensify the cooperation within this regional initiative, the process of European integration of the Western Balkans countries, security issues and the question of the chairmanship over the South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) for the period from July 1, 2018.
Minister Crnadak emphasized the importance of the South East European Cooperation Process because it effectively combines two main foreign policy priorities of BiH, which are membership in the European Union and better cooperation with neighbors and in the region.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH participated at the First Conference of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Western Balkans Fund (WBF), with which the work of this Fund was officially started, and which represents one of the concrete results of the Berlin Process.
