Greek airline Aegean Airlines has suspended Athens – Sarajevo flights this summer because of the impact of coronavirus, was confirmed to Fena news agency from Sarajevo International Airport.
In a letter to Sarajevo Airport’s management, the airline confirmed it would not be resuming the route in 2020. Flights between the two cities were launched last year and were to resume twice per week at the end of May. Aegean’s services to its other destinations across the former Yugoslavia (Belgrade, Dubrovnik, Podgorica, Skopje, Split and Zagreb) will continue to operate as planned.
As for other flights, as they stated, when it came to flights and destinations in Italy, a direct Sarajevo – Rome route was planned, but FlyBosnia suspended this line to prevent the spread of coronaviruses.
They also added that there were no flights to China from Sarajevo International Airport.
