The premiere of the play “Pobunjenik M.K.” directed by Nermin Hamzagić and the first premiere of the MESS theater within the program Memory Module 2014 will take place tomorrow, on Wednesday 16 April 2014, at the National Theater at 19:30. This play is created as a co-production of MESS Theater and Sarajevo National Theater in cooperation with EastWest Center. The six member ensemble consists of Aleksandar Seksan, Amar Selimović, Vedrana Seksan, Enes Salković, Maja Izetbegović and Dženana Džanić.
The many years of production and co-production of foreign and local plays of MESS Festival continues by initiating MESS theater. It is conceived as a living theater of the 21st century that will point to the need of redefining the process of theater institutions in a not very promising time of recession.
“I think this play will be the best start of a new theatrical scene, knowing the work of the colleague Hamzagić, his directorial poetics and the team around him”, said Dino Mustafić, Director of MESS Festival on the occasion of this premiere that marks the beginning of MESS Theater.
Selma Spahić, the artistic leader of the International Theater Festival MESS pointed out that MESS Theater is a utopian project 2014 in Sarajevo that is being achieved by this premiere. “Because we refuse to accept the euthanasia of B&H culture”, said Spahić.
