The First Congress of Orthopaedists and Traumatologists of B&H will be held at the Olympic beauty Jahorina from 18th to 21st September 2014. This congress will host 250 orthopaedists and traumatologists from all over B&H, the region and the world.
“This is a historical congress, a scientific success where they will exchange their experiences and show each other their achievements in this field.” – said professor doctor Mirza Biščević for Klix.
Bosnian orthopaedists and traumatologists are especially famous for their enormous experience in the war surgery.
Professor Biščević said that the war orthopaedics became nearly unrecognizable in the world for the past three or four decades. The Bosnian doctors are following well all achievements and are very good in the field of traumatology, spinal surgery, arthroscopy and endoprosthetics.
This event will be held at the same time as the marking of the jubilee of 30 years since the Winter Olympic Games in Sarajevo 1984, but also as the marking of the hundred years from the World War I.
“Not so long ago, in 1984, Sarajevo and Jahorina were the centre of the world, and we wish to regain at least little part of that glow with this congress. Jahorina is one of the synonyms for the Winter Olympic Games so we wished to connect the geographic position of the mountain and the jubilee” – said professor Biščević.
The orthopaedists and traumatologists will discuss the constant progress in the field of basic medicine science and the development of new operational techniques which made today’s orthopaedics and traumatology much different from those few decades ago.
