With this aim, Mrs. Witt is staying in Sarajevo where she is participating in the presentation of the campaign “2017 – sport for people with disabilities in focus”, organized by the German embassy.
Honorary guest Katarina Witt will be one of the speakers at this event in the Olympic Museum in Sarajevo. German Ambassador Christiane Hohmann will be talking about the importance of inclusion and support for sports for people with disabilities, and the Secretary General of the Olympic Committee of BiH Said Fazlagić and Director Executive of the Special Olympics of BiH Kada Delić-Selimović will also address the audience.
The German embassy wants to contribute to the improvement of the position of people with disabilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Support for sports for people with disabilities is of major importance there. In the past period, the Embassy supported a number of projects in the field of sports for people with disabilities. Positive experiences from these projects were an encouragement for the Embassy to place the focus of support for sports in 2017 entirely on projects in the field of sports for people with disabilities. Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany will provide funds for support for these projects.
