BiH exported dairy products worth 70,188,291 BAM last year, which is 14.71 % more than in 2015, while imports amounted to 128,353,574 BAM, which represents an increase of 7 % compared to the previous year.
This increase was contributed by the export of dairy products to EU member states, namely Croatia, which was not the case in 2015, as said from the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH.
We mostly exported milk and sour cream worth 47.95 million BAM on the market of CEFTA countries – Montenegro 18.6 million BAM, 10.73 million BAM of Macedonia, to Serbia 9.12 million BAM, and to Kosovo 7.04 million BAM.
Most of the butter was exported to Turkey, and it is worth 2.52 million BAM, and 655,000 BAM in Macedonia, while total exports of dairy products amounted to 3.65 million BAM last year.
Last year in BiH was mostly imported milk and cheese from the EU, and the most of it from Croatia.
Total imports of milk and sour cream amounted to 25.3 million BAM last year, while imports from Croatia totaled to 10 million BAM, from Hungary 5.14 million BAM, from Germany 4.7 million BAM, and Slovakia 3.82 million BAM.
Imports of cheese amounted to 66.75 million BAM, of which 33.3 million BAM relates to Germany, 11.12 million BAM to Croatia, 8.75 million BAM to Slovenia, 4.75 million BAM tothe Netherlands, less than 5 million BAM to Austria, and 2.72 million BAM to Serbia.
Total imports of butter in BiH amounted to just under 11.6 million BAM, and three countries from which we mostly imported milk products are Germany with 5.66 million BAM, 2.35 million BAM from Serbia and 2 million BAM from Croatia.
