Exhibition “I am writing to you in Bosančica”, one of the final products of the homonymous concept developed by the professor of graphic design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo Amra Zulfikarpašić, was opened last night at the City Gallery Collegium Artisticum in Sarajevo.
The exhibition which features 109 prints, a tapestry woven of cables, one video work, two dresses and five paintings and graphics is to be opened until December 1.
The exhibition was organized by the Association of Applied Art Artists and Designers of B&H (ULUPUBiH) within the project “Dialogue for Future”, which is implemented by the UNDP, UNICEF and UNESCO in partnership with the Presidency of B&H.
The exhibition was created after the published public competition by the ULUPUBiH for graphic designers, based on creating a work by using Bosnian Cyrillic (Bosančica) and a series of lectures and workshops held by professors from fine art academies from Sarajevo, Trebinje, Cetinje and Široki Brijeg for the students of graphic design and graphics.
On this occasion, awards were also presented for the best works in the competition.
First prize went to Aleksandra Nina Knežević for the functional font Bosančica and children’s book – speller with the font and illustrations, the second prize was awarded to Adi Kubura for graphic representation and elaboration, font Bosančica, and the third prize was for Teodora Šukalo from Trebinje for the dress with Bosančica motives.
